Continuing on with my tips for looking younger as we age — here’s another mistake you can make, that actually will add years instead of hiding them. If you’re guilty of this aging mistake, pay attention, so you can fix it today!
Blushing Beauty
Unless you’re actually in high school, don’t apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. Also, avoid using too much blush, applying it too low, or picking the wrong shade.
There was a certain era when more was better when it came to blush. Not the case now. Avoid shades that are two brown or red, because they can look muddy on the skin. Instead, pinch your cheeks and try to find a blush that matches the natural shade that results.
Apply a small amount to the center of your cheek bone and swipe upward and back. Blend well, and you‘ll nail that youthful glow.
Finding Your Perfect Blush Shade
Now I’m going to be completely honest here and tell you I use one blush! One! Until it’s gone! I don‘t have six different colors I wear for different seasons, occasions & earrings 😒. I’m a blush minimalist. Younique MOODSTRUCK Pressed Blusher is a great daily blush.
But it has to be RICH! That is, Richly pigmented! A couple swipes and I’m done! In fact, I like to apply heavy and then blend it out with my foundation kabuki brush. Your blush wants to be seen, just not front and center. 😉
These are my “Go-To” shades I use for all my clients and makeup customers.
